This book is simple and straightforward and very loving. I bought it without being able to preview it and I'm glad I did. Each page is a different animal (dad and child) and a different phrase: My dad ______________. Elephants: My dad walks with me. Dogs: My dad plays with me. Apes: My dad protects me. Possums; My dad hangs out with me. And so on, ending with the polar bears: My dad loves me! There are twelve pictures each spanning across two pages. The paintings are bright and colorful. The sentence pattern, animals, and colors will be very fun for a young child. Great little book.
This is a very simple book, and my son loves it when me or his dad read it to him. We act out the "my dad kisses me" and "my dad tickles me" pages, and he just cracks up. He's still too young to read it himself, but he definitely loves looking at the pictures and flipping through it on his own. We got it when my son was around 8 months (he's now 16 months), and it has still kept his interest.
This is a cute little board book, perfect for daddy to read to his little one! My husband loves to make the sounds of the different animals in the book as he reads it to our little guy! Great memories in the making!
It's super cute and each point is appropriate for what a loving dad would do: "My dad feeds me." "My dad kisses me." Every page is an animal dad and baby which my two year old loves. There is only a sentence every other page, so it's short. But, it's one of the few books she'll sit through from cover-to-cover and she's wanted to read it everyday since she got it.
Cute book! I appreciate the simplicity and accessibility of the text and illustrations. As an early childhood educator I understand that It's important for young children to be exposed to various kinds of art work, and I love how these illustrations are painted and not computer generated generic pictures. My daughter loves it!
I also have the "My Mom Loves Me" book and they are both sweet books. However, for the dad who isn't very emotive, this is an especially good book. It shows practical ways you can tell "my dad loves me" and gives a more "macho" man a way to express love to his child. Good buy!
I really like the simplicity of this book, we bought it for my 9 month old and she loves it! There is only one picture on each page and it is a very simple book so it's great for younger babies. My only issue is that I had a repeated page in my book, but it must have been a misprint since I haven't seen anyone else say they had a repeated page.
Bought this book for my husband's first fathers day. It's become a favorite in our home. We read it every night and, like others, enjoy acting out the "my dad tickles me...kisses me" pages. Our 9 month old gets especially excited for the lion page when we let out a little roar. A super sweet and simple book, I love watching my husband and son read together.
