Total waste of money. This so bad I dont k ow if it even qualifies as a book. Each page has 2 sentences of nonsense written by somebody met out on the road.

Not what i was expecting, disappointing read.

It was a copy,hard to read the type was all over the pages, I feel like you got to me. Amazon who checks out what you send out.

Just before writing this review, I noticed that there were over 100 new/used copies available from sellers starting at $.01 (thats a penny for the bikers that failed math). Even at that price it isn't worth it. Such an easy read for a difficult subject, had lots of tips, including how to make sure to get someone served. And actual practical tips. It makes it feel like a much less scary thing to do. The tone is friendly, and as many Nolo books, avoid legalese.

If you've never gone through the court system before this book will help take some of the "mystery" out of it. Helps you in preparation for your case and how to deal with some unexpected situations. I do recommend it.

I found the book interesting and informative. I plan to test the information within the next couple of months. I felt a little research was needed prior to using the system and at this point I feel this book was a good choice.

After I finished reading it, I knew that Sarah Dessen was about to become one of my favorite authors.I want to believe that this specific story has a special meaning to everyone. For me is about changes. Haven is 15 years teenager who's life is being put upside down and in the moment Summer Lee, her older sister boyfriends, appears in her life and bringing her back to those times, when her parents were together, her sister was happier and she felt part of something. I think that once in our life we have to deal with a situation in our lives like that. I can relate with Haven, after I broke up with my ex-boyfriend I thought I would never be happy and for a long time nothing make sense, I thought that I was always were meant to be broken but in the end I realize that you have to pick up the weeds and keep the flowers and though I was happy at that point of my life that happier and merrier time would come for me.. You see what does Sarah Dessen books does to me? I can even apply it to my personal life.As I always say Dessen has a gift to convey emotions, and create characters that you can relate too, even though this is the shortest book of Sarah, I think is one of the must honest and truthful novel she have even written . I can assure you that at some point you would relate with one character of the book, the plot is simple yes but very well thought and the end is very satisfying because she gives closure to the main character.Hope that this review was helpful, and my apologizes if I made it too personal but yet the book has a special meaning for me.

Her ever after will be the one which she creates.

The relaxed and believable voice of the young female narrator in this novel for young adults is something that not just teens can enjoy. Her dry wit and thoughtful observations about the ups and downs of her simple life recently complicated by the impending marriage of her older sister allow readers to smile and understand the agony of being "second born," living in a home altered by divorce, and feeling like everyone around you is different. This is a realistic, often sadly humorous look at one girl's struggle with change -- something we can all relate to.

The book is in okay condition. I was a little disturbed to see that I purchased a library book. It has the official stamp for the Atlanta-Fulton public library. I have no way of knowing if I purchased a stolen book. It is possible that the book was not stolen, it is just strange. I would like to have had that information in the description, then at least I would not have jumped to the conclusion of theft.

For people who are interested in either Folklore, Sexuality, or any imaginable combination of the two, this is an excellent book to read.

This book is a collaboration between two sisters, one of whom is a biologist and health educator, and the other of whom is a folklorist. Together they examine a vast number of urban legends and beliefs about sexuality, particularly in reference to teens and college students, and discuss how these stories can be used in an educational setting, both to glean information about things that need to be taught and to impart accurate information. As they point out, educators and health professionals sometimes make assumptions that are not shared by the young or uneducated people they deal with, and talking about popular beliefs and the stories that young people share among themselves can help clear up misunderstandings that otherwise might never have even been addressed. Discussion of stereotypes promoted by certain urban legends can also enable students to become better informed about stigmatized groups and behavior.Although I am not an educator, I am very interested in urban legends and other modern folklore, and not only did I find this book to be fascinating, but I can imagine how it could be used to great effect in educating our sadly ill-informed young adult population about an often awkward topic.

Did You Hear About the Girl Who...? is an extremely readable book about modern folklore (remember from junior high: the peanut butter joke, the tuna story, the needle in the movie theater) written by two sisters, one a health educator and one a folklorist. This book occasionally skimps on the folklore analysis to provide tips for educators, which is fine, but there's nothing on the jacket of the book to indicate its educational focus. That said, I was interested to learn about the idea of contemporary folklore and its manifestations in popular culture, including the ways that unusual or "humorous" assaults on men and women are gendered and the progression of "caught in the act" stories progressing historically from an engaged couple to a boyfriend&girlfriend. This book is a quick read and worth it.
