It is well structured, with do's and don'ts for both baby boomers and milenials. There is not right or wrong generation. It is a matter of understanding we are different and can help each other become a better company.
book ok, not happy that I have to read up on how to motivate the spoiled.
Most of the value in the book for me was in the first half. After that it much of the recommendations didn't always tie back to why the recommendations matter to millennials.
Plain and simple: you will not enjoy this book if you are an actual millennial. I REALLY struggled listening to this audiobook. At first, I thought it was the narrator, but the more I listened the more I realized the author put too many intentional "jabs" in the book about millennials (example: "...this may sound like a broken record to them... but they probably don't even know what that is.") As a double-degree, 6-figure-making, hard-working millennial, I was completely insulted by this book and it made the rest of the content hard to listen to or believe.I wanted to learn more about this topic because I am a corporate teams coach, and am fascinated by team dynamics. However, this book was really REALLY hard to get through and made me less interested in the subject. I think it's ironic that none of the "popular" books about millennials were actually written by one.
I recommend it to be read it by all managers
Essential purchase for all generations in the workforce. Easy to read.
I am currently dealing with Millennials in the workforce, and finding a way to motivate them has been quite the challenge. This book is clear in how to do that. I read it during my three-hour plane flight to see my team. This book made it easy for me to formulate a plan of action to deal with my younger team and help them to be more productive and more engaged during the workday.
Not overly insightful or much different from every other book I've read about management. The main focus is on establishing clear guidelines, never assuming and showing this generation how they fit into the bigger picture.
