helpful for star wars d20 game

Amazing book, with Jedi way in all forms. For your Star Wars campaign, here we have prestige classes, Light Side force skills, and a entire chapter about Jedi history, Jedi traditions...this is the best, in my opinion. With this, you can show and teach to the players what really means to be a Jedi. Its is not about rolling dices and kill enemies. It's better than that.I recommend this book, it is a good investment.

If you have the Core Rulebook, this supplement is a must. It contains lots of info on the jedi and lots of great stuff about the types of jedi you can play with prestige classes and all. Being a Jedi is what Star Wars is made of, so this book is a must if you want your adventure of RPG to be complete.

The Power of the Jedi Sourcebook is a full-color, hardcover resource for all things pertaining to the Jedi Order. Continuing from the standard set by the Dark Side Sourcebook, the "PotJ" book combines information and utility with a tasteful arrangement of interior artwork and photos.Most players will probably be most interested in the selection of new Jedi Prestige Classes, Light Side Force skills, feats, and equipment that the book offers. But there are also sections discussing Jedi history, Jedi traditions, new equipment, and new force-sensitive creatures. There are entries on important characters, important locations, and even advice on how to run a Jedi campaign. And of course, no book on the Jedi would be complete without a discussion of Force Spirits. This is also a section discussing new races, but most of these are also in the newer Ultimate Alien Anthology.This book has been one of the important resources in my Star Wars campaign. I've really enjoyed using the Prestige Classes. From the Jedi Healer to the powerful Jedi Weapon Master, players now have a much wider range of advancement options open to their characters. In addition many of the force-sensitive characters, creatures, and locations have already popped up in my storyline. I also found the notes on running a Jedi campaign to be very useful, for not only can they guide a GM but they can also aid players on how a Jedi should conduct himself.However, I do have a few minor complaints. A few of the Light Side force skills, particularly Force Light and Sever Force, seem to be quite powerful. Perhaps this is because they were based on the abilities of comic-book characters, but in any case, it was a wise move that such skills may only be acquired with GM approval. I would have also preferred to see a much more in-depth history section, particularly as it pertains to the Tales of the Jedi storyline. Finally, I felt that the maps for some of the important locations were fairly inadequate.However, as I noted earlier, these were minor complaints.Overall, I found this to be an outstanding addition to my Star Wars campaign. I use it often, and it is likely that I will continue to do so for some time to come. Whether you're the GM of a campaign with Jedi in it, or whether you're a player wanting to explore the possibilities of a Jedi character, I'd recommend this book as a solid investment.

I apologize in advance for not being very good at giving reviews.I've been reading the experiences of NDErs on websites like Jeffrey Long's for years now. NDE's fascinated me from a pretty young age (I believe I started looking into them at age 14-15). Over the years I became more and more agnostic in my beliefs - I wanted to believe, but I had my doubts.This book reminded me of why I believed in my younger years. The stories you find on www.nderf.org and in this book are fascinating to say the least. And reading it helped me feel better about the end of life. NDE stories have that affect on me - I view them as a positive sign that we will all receive a positive end to our physical lives. Either they prove the afterlife as a very real and wonderfully beautiful place, or it proves that our brains give us a beautiful way to end our existence. Obviously Jeffrey Long believes the former. I'm still a bit agnostic myself, but lean towards the former as well. Either scenario gives me some hope - which is the beauty of NDE stories, in my opinion.As for the book: I do like that Dr. Long addressed common skeptical responses. I wish that he addressed more, or maybe even had a chapter dedicated to responses to skeptics.I found his 9 points to be rather compelling. Especially the fact that people have had verified OBE, and that those born blind have a concept of "seeing" in their NDE's - something they cannot do in dreams. But I do wish he had more of a sample size for certain points: like the chapters about children and non-western NDE's. Dr. Long could only deal with what information he had, but I still did raise a few eyebrows on some of the conclusions he jumped to given such a small sample size, especially for the children and Non-Western NDE chapters. I do wonder if a larger amount of stories to include in the study could have altered any corresponding similarities or add to statistically significant differences between groups (i.e.: Comparing adult NDEs to child NDEs)Otherwise I think this is a must read for anyone who is interested in NDE stories and research. I'm definitely glad I gave this book a chance. It renewed my interest in NDE stories.

I don't want to type a long winded review though I definitely could. I'm so glad I decided to read this. This was first time in my 44 years of life I ever actually read or heard about an NDE and it's not even just the evidence presented in the book, but also something deep inside me that is telling me this is real and I should believe it. I have come to trust my intuition. We were wired with it for a reason. I don't believe for a minute that hundreds and even thousands of people either made this up or hallucinate. People wouldn't have that Similar of a hallucination, that doesn't even make sense. I have never had a near death experience but I feel profoundly changed as a person. I started changing about 17 months ago when some really bad stuff happened in my life and I discovered the power of meditation. From there I began a transformation I can only describe as a spiritual awakening and one thing after another led to more questions. I think we are meant to ask these questions in our life. It feels right. Like I'm on the path I'm supposed to be. Then this book came to me. Seemingly just at the right time and it has answered more questions and filled more gaps. I am changed forever and continuing to change and that's a good thing. Keep an open mind and an open heart. If you remain a skeptic you may miss out on many wonderful things. Also maybe your chi is blocked. We are spiritual beings and the way society is today so far away from everything that is important in life it makes it almost automatic to dismiss such views because they just don't fit into what you've been told to believe your whole life. That's cognitive dissonance. Think back to when you picked up your beliefs about the world. Likely most of them were when you were a toddler when you first started programming your neural pathways that shaped who you are today. You have the power to choose what you want to believe, what feels true to you. Don't let what others told you to believe affect your perception of these peoples stories. I frequently was brought to tears, happy tears, while reading this and something told me that this in fact was true. So much for this not being long winded but if I can help at least one other person feel the profound change I feel from reading this then it was worth it. I too feared death my entire life. I don't feel that anymore.

A good book with lots of details about her life and ambition. Basically a remarkable person. Lots of good notes and discussion and tons of research and background cited completely publisher year author journal name volume. Just for that I really like this and she does seem to have the credentials to be writing this. I dont agree with a lot of the underlying philosophy, she really has this trite black and white world, and does seem to think that legislation can fix things. While well intentioned this kind of egotistical thinking can be very harmful, i mean "big banks"? Who does she think will give the money to local banks to make quarter mil home mortgage loans? Because gammy put her quilts on ebay and deposited $75 last week? Get real. Its hard to make rules that work and the overall divisiveness against any one that somehow isnt up to her standard of 'family' or gets more money by taking huge risks or taking responsibility for peoples lives as ceo is just unacceptable to me. How about economic prosperity and reasonable interest rates for *americans*. But no, only people with picket fences dogs and babies. And in the end 99 percent of the legislation against say bankruptcy abuse ends up on the cutting room floor because, you guessed it, an abortion group declared bankruptcy and so suddenly,politically, strict bankruptcy law wasnt so important anymore. Terrible. Good book to find that story out though. WITH CITATIONS :)

I didn't know much of anything about Warren before reading this book. I was impressed by what a down to earth person she is. You hear her opponents try to paint her as Harvard elitist but her dad sold carpet for Montgomery Ward and her mom was a receptionist. Her family lost their home when her father had health problems and couldn't work for a while. Her story puts her politics into a perspective that I found inspiring.

I was really curious to learn more about Elizabeth Warren, so I started with this particular selection. It certainly made her political philosophies clear, and I am even more impressed by how her humble beginnings helped shape her values. She is a champion for ALL Americans. I didn't know if there were any politicians left who felt this way. A great read.

Very interesting reading. I'm not interested in politics but she does a great job of putting things in perspective through the details of her story. It gives me hope that there are people in office who understands and sympathizes with the average person's struggles and are not afraid to be their voices. It gives me hope for what had seemed hopeless, that there is indeed a fighting chance.

well written, informative but I don't like her uppity opinions about height. Like the opinions of some people I've encountered, her brother is tall she's not an impressionable taller than average height.

Warren tells it like it is, warts and all. She's absolutely brilliant. I wish I could vote for her for President, but maybe she'll do more good in getting the banks to treat their customers as humans and not as ATMs. Warren is highly educated - most recently a prof at Harvard Law - and she knows about the matters of which she speaks. Read this book. It may change your mind about many things relative to those currently in power.

This really gets you to thinking about the way Washington runs. At times it can be depressing to read, but sometimes the truth does that. Other times it can make you angry. Well written and very eye opening. Great book and a must read for anyone that would like to see things changed for the better.

I am so glad I read this book. Up till now, I didn't know an awful lot about Elizabeth Warren. What I've read convinces me that she is truly an excellent advocate for all of us. She truly cares about the "little people". Big banks look out!She's also a good writer, expresses herself very clearly.. She's so smart and has a great sense of humor. Wish we had more legislators like her!
