I don't even know what this book is about. It's a TOTAL waste of money. Completely different than "Girlboss". If you must read it, check it out from the library instead.... it's TERRIBLE.
I'm embarrassed that I bought this book. I totally fell for the hype leading up to it's release. There is really no content, except for self masterbatory bragging about how wonderful Sofia's life is and all of the expensive shit she owns. I wish I had realized I could have returned this; I gave it away and even the gal I gave it to told me she had no interest in reading it after looking over it for 5 minutes.
It's a beautifully designed book. It's a mix of everything that inspires Sophia & Nasty Gal: musicians, albums, actresses, models, & girl bosses. I must say I bought this book as soon as it came out because of my love for #GirlBoss. I was obsessed with it & read it religiously. Finished it in a few days. Last night I began to read Nasty Galaxy & got half way through it. There's much less reading material is why, but also because I was trying to see if it was going to get better. It's a coffee table book. Fun to pick up & browse through, but not the entrepreneur's bible like #Girlboss was. So if #Girlboss part 2 is what you wanted (like me), then you might be a little disappointed. Either way I still have fun reading it & seeing the visual candy. It's great to see where Sophia drew her inspiration from as a creative, and to get more of a visual on her girl boss features in the book. I would still recommend this book.
I, thought book would be, more Fashion photos of the Nasty Gal brand, put a mixed book of many things and has some photos, but not many on Fashion
Sent it back, sorry, Amazon. Nice looking cover and photo, so yeah, I guess it would look nice sitting on your coffee table, but you probably don't want to read the thing. Totally uninspired, as if someone had to throw together a book to fill some last minute contractual obligation, and assumed they could include anything and count on the graphic designer to make it all work. Well, it doesn't work. A disgusting story on having a "foamy" adult blowout in your pants, a tip on "how to poop, silently" coupled with some lame business advice (don't think these tips are going to help you land that dream job), as well as brief introductions to female rockers you already know about, and some astrological nonsense in case you are totally devoid of any spirituality and will settle for anything...well, that's pretty much it. And I wanted to like it, I really did, as I like visually appealing books that are just fun to look at.
Bought this book for a girl I was seeing. We spent a night flipping through it and it was a great wing man. Best money I ever spent 10/10 would Nasty again.
Great coffee table book. Easy to look through, great photos and fairly good read.
This book is absolutely beautiful! As well as reading it, I'm definitely going to be using this for a great interior design piece in an upcoming project. Thanks so much! A+++++
